The Baldwin Indians will challenge the University Christian Christians at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Baldwin has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Baldwin picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Valdosta. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by just one run.
Carson Duffy looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Drew Harmon, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Baldwin's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Chase Staley, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for University Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Duval Charter with a sharp 12-4 victory on Friday. The Christians haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Mason McLeod made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other pitching news, Lukas Brougham looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over four innings pitched.
Back at the plate, Bryson Harnage and Julius LaRosa did most of the damage at the plate: Harnage went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while LaRosa went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave LaRosa a new career-high in runs. Corey Wimberly was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
University Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Duval Charter struck out 12 times.
Baldwin pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for University Christian, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Baldwin has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like University Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
