Despite the defeat, Bertrand saw an underclassman step up: Addison Andersen scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Andersen hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Livia Phillips was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Bertrand has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Southern Valley, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.
Bertrand will face off against Medicine Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Medicine Valley is ranked 174th, while Bertrand is ranked 197th). As for Southern Valley, they will take on Southwest at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Southwest is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
