The Westminster Christian Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Priory Ravens at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Priory will be up against a hot Westminster Christian squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Wildcats' way against Webster Groves on Thursday as they made off with a 15-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Priory made easy work of Whitfield on Wednesday and carried off a 13-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Ravens in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.
Miles Anstey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Anstey was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
In other pitching news, Camden Dierker looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
Back at the plate, Connor Stone was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Beffa, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs.
Priory was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Westminster Christian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Priory, their record now sits at 3-6.
Westminster Christian took their victory against Priory when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
