The Skyline Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. The matchup between them and Northridge wasn't particularly close, with Skyline falling 53-37. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Skyline in their matchups with Northridge: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Skyline saw an underclassman step up: Aniah Dothard almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Dothard scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Keira Reuter, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Northridge found their leader in underclassman Sophia Carbajal, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 16 rebounds. Carbajal hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Savanna Amack, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Skyline has been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. As for Northridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Skyline will take on Niwot at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Skyline is on an eight-game streak of home losses, Niwot a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Northridge will take on Mountain View at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Mountain View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday.
