It was another big night for Creston Austin, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Buzalka, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Cumberland Valley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Mechanicsburg, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-2.
Cumberland Valley is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Altoona at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Altoona is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Mechanicsburg, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Hershey at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Hershey will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Mechanicsburg is ranked 63rd).
