Auburn Riverside picked up another tournament win last Saturday. They walked away with a 67-57 victory over Whitney. Given the Ravens' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 73rd in Washington, while the Wildcats are ranked 287th in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cora Lowe was her usual excellent self, going 10 of 13 on her way to 26 points and six steals. The game was her third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of CK Kandola, who posted 22 points.
Meanwhile, Kentridge can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They rang in the new year with a 49-36 win over Hazen.
Kentridge's win came from a few key players Auburn Riverside will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Andrea Pop, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaya Brown, who had seven points and ten rebounds.
Kentridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive contests.
Auburn Riverside is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Kentridge, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Auburn Riverside has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 35 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Kentridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
