After three games on the road, East Central is heading back home. They will take on the Stone Tomcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Stone is ranked 107th).
East Central suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They were outmatched by Laurel on the road and fell 89-45.
In what's become a running theme this season, Stone gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They really took it to Poplarville for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-30 victory at home. The win was familiar territory for Stone who now have three in a row.
Stone's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jabori Moye, who scored 13 points along with nine assists and five steals. Moye continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ray Dennis, who scored 22 points along with two steals.
East Central bumped their record down to 2-14 with that loss, which was their 14th straight on the road. As for Stone, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
