Softball Recap: Monroe Wins Going Away Against Platteville

Monroe not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 13, 2024. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Platteville Hillmen. The Cheesemakers haven't had any issues with the Hillmen recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Monroe's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Platteville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monroe will host Verona at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Platteville, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Dodgeville at 5:00 p.m. The Dodgers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Hillmen surely won't give up without a fight.
