Nevada Union put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 45-7 win over Oakmont. With Nevada Union ahead 31-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Bodey Eelkema, who rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Dustin Philpott was another key contributor, throwing for 122 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Ponderosa was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They strolled past Lincoln with points to spare, taking the game 32-14. The win was just what Ponderosa needed coming off of a 41-14 loss in their prior game.
Ponderosa's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Austin Sanchez, who rushed for 59 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 120 yards and a touchdown on only nine passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Alexander, who rushed for 169 yards while picking up 9.9 yards per carry.
Nevada Union's victory pushed their record up to 5-4, while Ponderosa's bumped their own up to the opposite: 4-5.
