If the White Pine Bobcats were feeling good off their 62-8 takedown of Adelson last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. White Pine received a tough blow on Wednesday as they fell 40-24 to Milford. Having soared to a lofty 62 points in the game before, White Pine couldn't push the score so high this time.
Despite the defeat, White Pine had strong showings from Brenley Skadburg, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Mallory Thompson, who scored five points along with two steals. Skadburg hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.
Tayleah Spaulding was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with three steals for Milford. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Spaulding has scored all season.
White Pine's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Milford, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. White Pine will challenge Founders Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Founders Classical Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Milford won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Panguitch at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Panguitch sitting on six straight wins and Milford on three.
