Jon Scheyer continued his hot start on the recruiting trail Monday, adding No. 2 overall Class of 2022 high school basketball prospect
Dereck Lively II of
Westtown (West Chester, Pa.). The commitment gives the Blue Devils the top recruiting class ahead of what will be Scheyer's first season as head coach in 2022-23.

Considered a top 50-caliber prospect in the spring, Lively has seen a rapid rise in the player rankings, ascending into the top 10 just over a month later according to
247Sports.
Lively had an impressive summer with Team Final, helping the program capture its first ever Peach Jam title with 13 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks in a 64-61 title game victory.
In addition to Duke, Lively was pursued by finalists Florida State, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, Penn State and USC among others.
Joe Tipton of On3 Sports reported that he turned down an offer worth $500,000 from the G League.
