The Parkland Matadors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They lost to Del Valle at home by a decisive 38-19 margin. Parkland has struggled against Del Valle recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Parkland saw an underclassman step up: Rachael Silva scored 12 points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Parkland struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-5) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Parkland has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for Del Valle, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-13.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Hanks the next time they take the court. Del Valle will host Hanks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Parkland will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
