Clare extended the longest winning streak in Jack Pine this week by beating Roscommon, 34-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Pioneers.
Gladwin's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Landon Grove threw for 114 yards and Lucas Schwager had 79 yards receiving. On the ground Demetri Trice chipped in 98 yards. Trice helped Gladwin's passing attack out by catching one ball for 16 yards.
Gladwin's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Flying G's feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Grove has thrown for 860 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Trice has 17 catches for 443 yards. Grove also leads the league in rushing with 706 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Beaverton takes on the Bucks. The Beavers are in fifth place, while Roscommon is in fourth place.
Clare made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,371 from 5,915. The improvement came about via a 34-7 victory over Joe Holloway's team last week.
