Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Devine to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kynedie Cruz, who had four aces and three digs. Those four aces gave Cruz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Greeley Malone, who had four aces and three digs.
They weren't the only good servers: Devine was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Floresville made easy work of Pleasanton on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tigers/Jaguars in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.
The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-11, 25-18.
Devine's record now sits at 19-15. As for Floresville, their record is now 25-13.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: Devine has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 4.6 aces per game. However, it's not like Floresville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Devine might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Floresville in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Warhorses / Arabians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
