Lincoln County will be up against a hot Taylor County squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Everything went Taylor County's way against Bardstown on Monday as Taylor County made off with an 11-3 victory. That eight run margin sets a new team best for the Cardinals this season.
Gabe Cole made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Cole was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Back at the plate, Luke Hayes was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Austin Garrett, who went 1-for-4 with four RBI and one double.
Taylor County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bardstown struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln County). They walked away with a 12-9 win over Clay County on Saturday.
Sawyer Robbins was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with five RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Smith, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Taylor County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln County, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Lincoln County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Taylor County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336.
