Kankakee has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the East St. Louis Flyers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Kankakee walked away with it. They took down Blue Island Eisenhower 49-35 on Saturday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Meanwhile, East St. Louis entered their tilt with Normal West with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. East St. Louis claimed a resounding 54-7 win over Normal West at home. East St. Louis' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Larevious Woods was on fire: he rushed for 184 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Rico Bond also helped out as he racked up 127 receiving yards.
Kankakee pushed their record up to 11-0 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Thornridge and 1-8 Thornton (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 43.2% over those games). As for East St. Louis, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
