It was a good run, but the Somerset Bible Baptist Christian Academy Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to Calvary Academy 57-52. Somerset Bible Baptist Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warrior apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Somerset Bible Baptist Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Carter English, who scored 22 points. English is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 20 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyair Jones, who scored 12 points.
Calvary Academy had a senior duo take command as Jake Nelson scored 19 points and Caleb Arleth scored 15 points. Arleth has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caiden Young, who scored 11 points.
Somerset Bible Baptist Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Calvary Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4.
Somerset Bible Baptist Christian Academy will square off against the Swordsmen at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Solid Rock Christian School is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Calvary Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ocean County Christian Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
