The Wenonah Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 60-48 to Minor. Wenonah lost against Minor in their previous head to head on Tuesday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 61-50 score last time.
Despite the loss, Wenonah still got an impressive performance from Samarian Franklin, who scored 29 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Franklin scored a full 60.4% of Wenonah's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamaria Dorman, who scored 6 points along with 11 rebounds.
Wenonah's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Minor, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.
Wenonah's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Midfield at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully Midfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Monday. As for Minor, they will head out on the road to face off against Cornerstone at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cornerstone will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 197th, while Minor is ranked 44th).
