With a playoff game on the line, the Columbia Academy Bulldogs rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 48-41 victory over Jackson Christian. The victory was familiar territory for Columbia Academy who now have seven in a row.
Montae Baldwin was his usual excellent self, rushing for 252 yards and four touchdowns. Baldwin was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Rosson, who threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns.
Jackson Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Easton Jones, who gained 69 total yards and three touchdowns, and Austin Kelley who threw for 291 yards and two touchdowns.
Columbia Academy pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.5 points per game. As for Jackson Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.
Columbia Academy has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Middle Tennessee Christian at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Middle Tennessee Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Columbia Academy likes a good challenge. Jackson Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
