Cherokee is 8-1 against Seneca since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Cherokee Chiefs will head out on the road to face off against the Seneca Golden Eagles at 3:45 p.m. Cherokee will be strutting in after a win while Seneca will be coming in after a loss.
Last Saturday, Cherokee's game was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They secured a 47-41 W over Westampton Tech. Given Cherokee's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Westampton Tech is ranked 243rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Seneca's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight defeat. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Deptford. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Cherokee's victory bumped their record up to 15-11. As for Seneca, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.
Cherokee beat Seneca 55-48 when the teams last played back in February of 2022. Does Cherokee have another victory up their sleeve, or will Seneca turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
