The North Callaway Thunderbirds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 75-52 defeat at the hands of Clopton. North Callaway has not had much luck with Clopton recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Loss or not, North Callaway got some senior leadership from Isiah Craighead and Sam Pezold. Craighead scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Pezold. scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Craighead is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Paul Russell, who scored seven points.
North Callaway's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Clopton, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
North Callaway will take on Bowling Green at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Bowling Green is ranked 447th, while North Callaway is ranked 470th). Clopton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Louisiana at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th.
