Starpoint is 1-9 against the Tigers since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Starpoint Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Amherst Central Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Starpoint will be strutting in after a victory while the Tigers will be coming in after a defeat.
Starpoint came into Thursday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against West Seneca West back in January as Starpoint made off with a 60-40 victory. Starpoint's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Amherst Central's 21-4 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Amherst Central has scored all season.
Starpoint's win bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Amherst Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Starpoint was dealt a bruising 66-38 defeat at the hands of the Tigers when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Starpoint avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
