Greene County Tech and Valley View are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Greene County Tech Golden Eagles will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Valley View Blazers at 6:00 p.m. Greene County Tech will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Greene County Tech beat Batesville 47-41. Given Greene County Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Batesville is ranked 70th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Myiah Butler was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Jacey Edrington was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Valley View came into Tuesday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They claimed a resounding 56-24 win over Paragould at home.
Greene County Tech is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. As for Valley View, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-13.
Greene County Tech strolled past Valley View when the teams last played back in January by a score of 57-41. Will Greene County Tech repeat their success, or does Valley View have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
