On Wednesday, the Conard Red Wolves faced the Manchester Red Hawks in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Conard came out on top in a nail-biter against Manchester and snuck past 60-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Conard has posted yet this season.
When it comes to explaining why Manchester lost, one person who can't be blamed is Derrick Sheets. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points. Will Oden-Tann was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Conard has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Manchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.
Conard will head out on the road to face off against Northwest Catholic at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Manchester, they will be playing at home against Windham at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
