The Wheatley Wildcats couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 48-29 to Freeport.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Freeport to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jevon Saul, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 14 rebounds. Latrell Tucker was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Wheatley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Freeport, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Wheatley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Freeport will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Academy Charter at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Academy Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Saturday.
