Basketball Recap: Discovery Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Lake Placid came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Discovery, but Ralana Spence wouldn't allow it. Everything went the Discovery Spartans' way against the Lake Placid Dragons on Tuesday as the Discovery Spartans made off with a 49-29 win thanks in part to Spence, who posted 15 points. Those 15 points gave her a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Lake Placid saw an underclassman step up: freshman Haylee Stewart earned 19 points and six rebounds.

Discovery's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. As for Lake Placid, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Discovery wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 61-31 defeat against Lakeland Christian on the 12th. As for Lake Placid, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 39-19 win against Frostproof on the 12th.
