The Timberline Blazers put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Auburn Mountainview 74-33 at home. Considering Timberline has won eight games by more than 26 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Timberline was led to victory by Brandi Stanford and Shayla Cordis. Stanford almost dropped a triple-double on 28 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals, while Cordis dropped a double-double on 30 points and 13 steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Cordis has scored at least 25% of Timberline's points. Another player making a difference was Sierra Cordis, who scored six points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Timberline pushed their record up to 10-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.2 points per game. As for Auburn Mountainview, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Timberline will head out on the road to face off against Peninsula at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Peninsula focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Wednesday. As for Auburn Mountainview, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kent-Meridian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
