The Phoenix Day School for the Deaf Roadrunners fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 38-29 win over Oregon School for the Deaf on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Phoenix Day School for the Deaf also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
It was another big night for Anthony Flores, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kotu Salih, who scored eight points.
Phoenix Day School for the Deaf's win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Oregon School for the Deaf, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Phoenix Day School for the Deaf on the road again on Saturday and play against Idaho School for the Deaf & Blind at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. As for Oregon School for the Deaf, they will challenge Willamette Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
