Frankton is 9-1 against Wapahani since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Frankton Eagles will be playing at home against the Wapahani Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Frankton will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
Frankton struggled with assists on Friday (Eastbrook had 800% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Frankton was the victim of a rough 56-32 defeat at the hands of Eastbrook. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Frankton in their matchups with Eastbrook: they've now lost three in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Emma Sperry, who scored 17 points. She scored a full 53.1% of Frankton's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Wapahani beat Winchester Community 54-49 on Thursday. Given Wapahani's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Winchester Community is ranked 281st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wapahani relied on the efforts of Emily Luce, who scored 12 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds, and Megan Luce, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds. Zoey Swallow was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 3 steals.
Frankton's win bumped their season record to 7-4 while Eastbrook's loss dropped theirs to 7-1.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's matchup: Frankton have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 40.5% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Wapahani struggles in that department as they've only made 34.1% of theirs this season. Given Frankton's sizeable advantage in that area, Wapahani will need to find a way to close that gap. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
Frankton didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Wapahani in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 47-41 victory. Does Frankton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wapahani turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
