The Zionsville Eagles''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 31-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Noblesville. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Zionsville in their matchups with Noblesville: they've now lost three in a row.
Zionsville's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eli Showalter, who threw for 213 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Eugene Hilton, who picked up 79 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Logan Shoffner was a one-man wrecking crew for Noblesville as he rushed for 235 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Shoffner really tore up the turf during one magnificent 81-yard run. Gage Gulley also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Zionsville's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-7. As for Noblesville, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7.
Zionsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Noblesville will be playing at home against Westfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westfield is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
