Howells-Dodge claimed a resounding 50-21 win over Lyons-Decatur Northeast on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-8.
Despite the loss, Lyons-Decatur Northeast saw an underclassman step up: Kaden Knaak scored six points along with ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for him.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Lyons-Decatur Northeast struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Howells-Dodge pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Lyons-Decatur Northeast, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Howells-Dodge will be home for the holidays to greet Clarkson/Leigh at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Clarkson/Leigh focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday. As for Lyons-Decatur Northeast, they will head out on the road to face off against Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51 points per game.
