Highland has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Illiana Christian Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Highland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
Last Friday, Highland came up short against North Newton and fell 58-47.
Despite the loss, Highland got a solid performance out of Justin Pack, who scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Kristijan Zekavica was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Illiana Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 67-54 to Griffith.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: North Newton's victory pushed their record up to 2-3, while Highland's loss dropped theirs down to 3-2.
Highland was dealt a bruising 66-20 loss at the hands of Illiana Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Highland, Zeke VanEssen (who scored 17 points along with 5 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
