The De La Salle Collegiate Pilots had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Mott 45-19. The victory was nothing new for De La Salle Collegiate as they're now sitting on nine straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead De La Salle Collegiate to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sante Gasperoni, who threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Damion King IV was another key contributor, picking up 131 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
De La Salle Collegiate has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 11-2 record. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.33 points. As for Mott, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.
De La Salle Collegiate will head out on the road to face off against Muskegon at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Muskegon is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Mott does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
