2A/1A Conference 17 recap September 4, 2013
Clinton was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to third in 2A/1A Conference 17. The Dark Horses vanquished East Duplin 20-13 earlier in the week.
West Bladen moved up to 304 from 381 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Knights climbed the ranks as a result of beating West Columbus 37-27.
Daquan Lennon was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 153 yards on 11 carries as West Bladen topped the Vikings. Teammate McDowell added to the ground attack by rushing for 84 yards.
Lennon was a passing and rushing force as Russell Dove's team topped West Columbus.
McDowell was the best receiver in 2A/1A Conference 17 this week as the Knights bested Mark Little's team.
Trask fell to North Brunswick 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dalen Faison was a bright spot for the Titans, as he ran for 22 yards in the defeat.
