The Susquehanna Valley Sabers can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against Chenango Forks by a score of 71-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Stephen Samsel, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Walker Paske, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Susquehanna Valley's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6. As for Chenango Forks, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Susquehanna Valley's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Chenango Forks, they will face off against the Wolverines at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Waverly's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 matches.
