Mandarin has gone a perfect 3-0 against Wolfson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Mandarin Mustangs are taking a road trip to face off against the Wolfson Wolfpack at 6:00 p.m. Mandarin has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight losses, while Wolfson will come in with three straight victories.
On Tuesday, Mandarin came up short against Nease and fell 11-7.
Ryleigh Booth made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Abigail Stolp also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Wolfson got themselves on the board against Eagle's View on Monday, but Eagle's View never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 17-0 win. Considering the Wolfpack have won four contests by more than 15 runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Madison Saling was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Sarah Wisniewski was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Peyton Brown was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Wolfson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .769. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Wolfson pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13 runs. As for Mandarin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Everything went Mandarin's way against Wolfson when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Mandarin made off with a 13-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mandarin since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
