If the Richard Montgomery Rockets were riding high off their 80-43 takedown of the Wheaton Knights last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Richard Montgomery fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 74-71. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Whitman got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Evan Brown out in front who scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Thomas Farrell, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Richard Montgomery's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Whitman, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Richard Montgomery will face off against the Warriors at TBD on Friday. One thing working in Sherwood's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests. As for Whitman, they and the Coyotes will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Clarksburg is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
