The North Forsyth Vikings and the Morehead Panthers will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Wednesday, North Forsyth suffered a rough 53-33 loss at the hands of West Davidson.
Meanwhile, Morehead unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 80-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carlisle. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Morehead has scored all season.
Morehead's loss came about despite a quality game from Makel Smith, who scored 28 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Smith's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Chandler, who scored 12 points.
Even though they lost, Morehead were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
North Forsyth's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Morehead, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
North Forsyth was taken down by Morehead 81-46 in their previous meeting back in January. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point North Forsyth was down 39-14.
