Faith Academy kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were beaten by the Fairhope Pirates 41-6. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.
Eli Quinley threw for 81 yards on 12 of 21 attempts. Kobe Hunt was his top target, picking up 57 receiving yards. On the ground, Theo Jackson rushed for 40 yards and one TD.
Bryon Martin was nothing short of spectacular for Fairhope: he picked up 92 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 68 yards and one score. Those 92 receiving yards gave Martin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trey Garner, who threw for 132 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten passes.
The victory got Fairhope back to even at 1-1.
