Football Recap: Sullivan Beats Park Tudor for Their Third Straight Victory

Sullivan had won two straight games and Clark French did his part to make it three on Friday. The Golden Arrows claimed a resounding 77-20 victory over the Park Tudor Panthers thanks in part to French, who rushed for 189 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 149 rushing yards.

The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Grise, who threw for 115 yards and three TDs on only nine passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Sullivan's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Sullivan, racking up 21 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Zane Catlin, who ran a punt back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a kickoff return touchdown from him.

Sullivan's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Ty Hamilton, Jaden Norris, and William Hollifield, who each picked up one sack apiece. Sullivan received some extra help from Landyn Scott Simmons, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Sullivan's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Park Tudor, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Sullivan will challenge West Vigo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Arrows will be up against the Vikings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 48.13 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Park Tudor, they will face off against Purdue Poly Englewood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
