Heyworth is 8-2 against Lexington since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Hornets will square off against the Minutemen at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Heyworth took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Mt. Pulaski 4-2.

Carter Brooks tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Boston Katz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Lexington made easy work of Fisher on Tuesday and carried off a 15-2 win. The Minutemen haven't had any issues with the Bunnies recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Jack Miller was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Blaine Friedmansky was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Lexington's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is undefeated (and 4-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Braeden Barber, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Lexington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Heyworth's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Lexington, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Heyworth has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lexington struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
