Northland Prep Academy strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Valley Pirates a 20-0 shutout. While the Spartans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Ryliegh LaFave was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Northland Prep Academy got a massive performance out of Hayden Massey, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Massey also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Audre Wilson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
Northland Prep Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Northland Prep Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Valley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.
