After flying high against the Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy Rams on Tuesday, the Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri Crusaders came back down to earth. Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri was dealt a 77-41 loss at the hands of Rock Port on Saturday.
Rock Port was led to victory by Malachi Skillen and Jack Meyerkorth. Skillen scored 13 points, while Meyerkorth scored 19 points along with four steals. Skillen also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Westyn Amthor, who scored 11 points.
Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Rock Port, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Independence Home School at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Rock Port will be home for the holidays to greet Union Star at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
