After flying high against Crockett County last Friday, Haywood came back down to earth. The Haywood Tomcats had to suffer through a 59-27 loss at the hands of the Dyer County Choctaws. Haywood lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carson Graves, who threw for 202 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Reid, who picked up 102 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Ja'Bari Livingston and he. Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Haywood will welcome Millington Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Haywood will be looking to keep their 12-game home win streak dating back to last season alive. As for Dyer County, they will host Ridgeway at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dyer County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Ridgeway likes a good challenge.
