Despite the loss, Chrisman saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Dylan Lucas went 6-for-15 en route to 18 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Lucas a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin McCord, who posted 13 points and seven rebounds.
Hoopeston found their leader in freshman Alandize Barnett, who went 10-for-17 on his way to 26 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Barnett now owns an excellent 47.4% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Trenton Montez, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Chrisman's defeat dropped their record down to 3-25. As for Hoopeston, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 18-11.
