The Evangel Christian Academy Eagles will face off against the Captain Shreve Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Evangel Christian Academy had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 48-point drubbing they dealt Huntington on Thursday. The Eagles blew past the Raiders 62-14. The game marked the Eagles' most dominant win of the season so far.

Peyton Houston
| 10/02/25 @ Huntington | 6 |
| 09/26/25 vs Airline | 3 |
| 09/19/25 @ Byrd | 3 |
| 09/12/25 vs Natchitoches Central | 4 |
| 09/04/25 @ Neville | 1 |
Peyton Houston continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 428 yards and six touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 17 passing touchdowns on the season. Demarkus Evans was Houston's top target, picking up 136 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while also punching in one rushing score.
Another reason for the win was Evangel Christian Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Ethan Mandigo, Ashton Dawson, and Nick Lopez, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Captain Shreve). They walked away with a 66-56 victory over Airline on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the Gators' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Evangel Christian Academy better keep an eye on Jamarcea Plater. He was instrumental in Captain Shreve's win, rushing for 173 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries, while also picking up 42 receiving yards. That's the most rushing yards Plater has posted since back in October of 2024.
Captain Shreve's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Evangel Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 4-1.
Evangel Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Captain Shreve in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, winning 58-48. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
