The East Central Trojans put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Shelbyville 62-7 at home. Considering East Central has won nine games by more than 33 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Josh Ringer, who rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. Ringer hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for ten straight games. Cole Burton was another key contributor, throwing for 129 yards and four touchdowns on only nine passes.
East Central's win was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 11-0. As for Shelbyville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
East Central will head out on the road to face off against Martinsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Martinsville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 50th, while East Central is ranked fifth). Shelbyville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
