The Fossil Ridge SaberCats waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They really took it to Boulder for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-32 victory at home. Fossil Ridge has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Fossil Ridge was led to victory by Walker Shields and Eli Nutting. Shields scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Nutting made all 6 shots he took from beyond the arc racking up 22 points and 3 assists. Shields continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Hughes, who scored eight points.
Boulder lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cole Morrow, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Kyle Blauch, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Fossil Ridge's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for Boulder, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fossil Ridge will take on Monarch at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Boulder, they will be playing at home against Fort Collins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Collins has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 481 points over their last seven matchups.
