Leading Eastwood to victory were Marcus Bennett and Devin Falk-Ramirez. Bennett scored 12 points along with three steals, while Falk-Ramirez scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Mark Hernandez, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Eastwood's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-9. As for Montwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-12 record this season.
Eastwood will challenge the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Texas (Franklin is ranked 169th, while the Troopers are ranked 190th). As for Montwood, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Aztecs at 7:30 p.m. El Dorado has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 30.
