Make it six blowout wins for the Maumee Valley Country Day Hawks this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Hilltop 71-37 at home. The victory was just what Maumee Valley Country Day needed coming off of a 81-39 loss in their prior matchup.
Maumee Valley Country Day had a senior duo take command as Christian Majors dropped a double-double on 30 points and 14 rebounds and Amani-Jordan Chandran-Dickerson scored 33 points along with two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Majors has scored at least a third of Maumee Valley Country Day's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Knorek, who scored six points along with three steals.
Maumee Valley Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Hilltop, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.
Maumee Valley Country Day will be playing at home against the Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Toledo Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matches -- so hopefully the Hawks likes a good challenge. Hilltop will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
